ATHENS, GA. — The University of Georgia football program confirmed on Monday night that quarterback Carson Beck’s season is over.
Channel 2 sports director Zach Klein previously reported two weeks ago that it was expected Beck would miss at least Bulldogs’ College Football Playoff quarterfinal game in the Sugar Bowl.
On Monday, the school confirmed that Beck will miss the rest of the season after he underwent successful UCL surgery on his right elbow.
The procedure was performed by the same surgeon who performed both ACL surgeries for Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr.
“Carson Beck underwent successful surgery Monday on his right elbow to repair his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), performed by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, Ca. A full recovery is expected with throwing to begin spring of 2025,” officials wrote in a statement.

The Bulldogs will turn to Rabun County native Gunner Stockton to lead their team to another national championship.
Earlier on Monday, head coach Kirby Smart discussed Stockton’s progress at practice.
“He got lots of reps prior to these practices, but he’s getting much more now,” Smart said. “I do think ... when you get ready for an opponent like Notre Dame, you need time and we have time.”
No. 2 seed Georgia will face the No. 7 seed Fighting Irish on New Year’s Day in New Orleans.
