HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. — A house will no longer be at the center of drug activity in one Georgia community. The sheriff’s office has officially taken over the property.
The Haralson County sheriff’s office said that through civil asset forfeiture, it took over the property on Coppermine Road.

Authorities said the house had been a source of major drug activity, including over five overdoses and one death within six months. Robert Morris was arrested twice this past year for maintaining a disorderly house for the drug activity and overdoses on the property.
In this case, the sheriff, the agency and the property owner worked together to turn the house over to the sheriff’s office and it was finalized Thursday.
In pictures posted to Facebook, Haralson County Sheriff Stacy Williams is seen posting a sign in the yard that reads: This drug house closed for business by sheriff Stacy Williams.

“My stance against illegal drugs has been clear from day one. We will continue to investigate drug houses and make the arrests to protect our communities. In serious cases like this, we will seize houses and property to make our neighborhoods safe for our children,” Williams said.
The sheriff’s office said if you know about any other drug activity in the county, you should call the office at 770-646-2011.
