Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Atlanta police, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol held a news conference on Wednesday.
Cherokee County Sheriff Frank Reynolds said Long told investigators that he had a sexual addiction and had frequented all three businesses before. Long allegedly told investigators that he blames the massage parlors for providing an outlet for his addiction and wanted to “eliminate the temptation.”
Bottoms said spas targeted in yesterday’s shootings are legally operating businesses and have not been on the radar of APD.
“We are not about to get into victim blaming, victim shaming here,” the mayor said.
