Georgia toddler killed when mother rushing child to hospital loses control of car, crashes

LONG COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia mother who was rushing her child to the hospital lost control of the car and crashed early Saturday morning, leaving a toddler dead.

The accident happened in Long County near Savannah. Georgia State Patrol said a Nissan Altma was traveling eastbound on GA-196 just before 2 a.m. when the driver lost control and the car rolled over.

GSP said two adults and two children were in the car at the time of the crash and that the family was rushing one of the children to the hospital.

The family was taken to the hospital, where a toddler was pronounced dead. It’s unclear if the child who died is the one who was being taken to the hospital.

The family has not been identified. No charges will be filed, according to WTOC.
