GEORGIA — A line of strong storms brought tornadoes and damaging wind into metro Atlanta and north Georgia early Monday morning.
The severe level risk is over for most of metro Atlanta now. But a tornado watch remains in effect for eastern counties.
There were early reports of damage to several homes in Summerville.

Here’s what you need to know:
- Severe Weather Team said there were radar confirmed tornadoes in College Park and Thomaston Monday.
- Heavy rain, frequent lightning and powerful straight line winds were also threats. Some areas experience major flooding.
- Damaging wind could cause downed trees and power outages.
