HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE: Haralson County sheriff's officials said Jeffrey Seth Odom turned himself in early on July 4.

A major search is underway to find a mother who disappeared earlier this month. Deputies in Haralson County said a man she dated is now a person of interest.

Deputies said they are worried Jessica Earl, 31, is in danger. A $1,000 reward is being offered for any information that will lead investigators to her.

“We want her home. We need her home,” Earl’s mother, Sandee King, said.

Deputies said Earl was last seen with 36-year-old Jeffery Odom on Little Circle in Tallapoosa on June 8 when the two got into an argument.

“She left walking. He left driving in a vehicle. From there, we don’t know exactly what happened,” Chief Joey McSwain said.

Deputies said the two were dating for a couple of months. Odom is now a person of interest in her disappearance.

“He has an extensive criminal history -- a lot of violence, drug violations,” McSwain said.

King said she first met him when he drove with her daughter to pick up a new car she bought for her a couple months ago.

“He was respectful. I will tell you he was respectful when he met me,” King said.

While deputies search for Earl, her mother told Channel 2 Action News she's beside herself with worry for her daughter.

"It's most definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with,” King said.

Deputies said they do believe Odom is still in the area. They're warning everyone to keep their doors locked. They do have more searches planned for Earl.
