Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles location closes permanently

ATLANTA — There are now only two Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles restaurants operating today.

Workers say the location near the Mall at Stonecrest in DeKalb County permanently closed Sunday.

In June, the state seized the three Gladys Knight locations and arrested her son Shanga Hankerson on charges of theft and racketeering.

The Peachtree Street and Cascade Road locations remain open.

Officials say Gladys Knight isn't suspected of any criminal activity.
