GEORGIA — Governor Brian Kemp took to prayer in the ongoing fight against coronavirus on Monday.
At its peak, around 11,000 people joined the Facebook Live Monday morning from the governor's Facebook page.
After nearly an hour and a half of prayers led by numerous faith leaders, they pledged to partner with God in this fight against coronavirus.
“We come before you asking for a cure covering, currently raging in our world. Lord hear our prayers,” Rev. Abraham Mosley from Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Athens said.

One after another, religious leaders prayed at the podium, not just for those who are suffering from COVID-19, but for the front line workers safety and security. Every leader that spoke also prayed for wisdom and guidance for our state and federal leaders.
Many prayed for revival for our state and country and for guidance in the bold move to be amongst the first to reopen.
It was a statewide prayer service that the mostly thousand plus comments agreed with.
“Our very best is not enough. We need help from heaven,” Louie Giglio of Atlanta’s Passion City Church said.
Giglio went on to say what the state needed most was a spiritual awakening, wisdom and revelation.
“Give them your wisdom, strength and courage to make thoughtful, wise, measured decisions for all of us,” Reverend Deb Trimpe of Alps Road Presbyterian Church in Athens said.
Trimpe clarified that now is not about politics, but what’s right for all of us, as neighbors and as Georgians.
“Lord, bless the leaders of this state, our governor and others,” Rev. Abraham Mosley of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Athens said.
During the Facebook Live event, many who commented applauded the governor’s courage in publicly showing how he’s leaning on prayer during this pandemic.
