ATLANTA, Ga. — Georgia State Patrol officials said 18 people were killed in car accidents during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in Georgia.
Over the five-day travel period, there were a total of 15 deadly crashes. GSP said they investigated three of them while local law enforcement agencies investigated the others.
The deadly crashes happened in the following cities and counties: Atlanta, Bibb, Cherokee County, Cobb, Columbus, DeKalb, Dougherty, Floyd, Fulton, Henry and Kennesaw.

Channel 2 Action News reported on several of the crashes. One of the crashes killed 52-year-old Chris Mynes, and his 18-year-old daughter Alivia Mynes in Cherokee County. Alivia Mynes was a former volleyball player for Creekview High School.
Deputies said his wife Jennifer and younger daughter Sydney had non-life-threatening injuries.

Another crash that happened over the weekend involved the deaths of 27-year-old Nomari Waite and 5-year-old Carmyn Anderson in Bibb County.
Deputies said the Florida woman and Atlanta child were killed by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 75.
GSP added that troopers investigated another 590 crashes around the state that resulted in nearly 300 injuries. GSP also released the number of traffic stops and DUI arrests:
- 15,600 traffic stops
- 300 arrests for driving under the influence
- 12,100 traffic warnings issued
- More than 8,600 citations issued
