GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit arrested a Decatur man who they believe is responsible for at least three carjackings dating back to 2020.

Deputies have charged 28-year-old Sergio Javonte Wilkerson with three counts of hijacking a motor vehicle, four counts of aggravated assault, four counts of armed robbery and four counts of participation in gang activity.
Deputies said Wilkerson is also wanted on a federal warrant by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and by the US Marshals along with the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office.

According to deputies, Wilkerson carjacked three vehicles in December.
They searched eight months for him before arresting him Friday. They said he was arrested in Lithonia with the help of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Fugitive Unit.
He is being held in the Gwinnett County jail without bond for the 15 charges he faces.
