Another large sinkhole opens up on metro Atlanta road

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Crews are working to repair a large sinkhole in a residential road in Gwinnett County.

The sinkhole is at the intersection of Old Fountain Road and Prospect Road. Gwinnett County police are advising people to avoid the area.

This is the second sinkhole to open up on metro Atlanta roads this week. A large sinkhole formed on an I-285 exit ramp in Cobb County, forcing three lanes to shut down.

It’s unclear what caused either sinkhole or how long it will take to fix them.
