GWINETT COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned a college football player from metro Atlanta has died
Officials at Stetson University in central Florida said Nick Blakely, 19, of Lawrenceville collapsed on the sidelines shortly after practice started Monday night.

They say he complained he wasn't feeling well.
The Georgia native also played at Archer High School in Lawrenceville.
Blakely's friends and classmates plan held a memorial on campus Tuesday.
Archer HS Coach Andy Dyer released the following statement Tuesday about his former player.
"We are broken hearted at the loss of Nick. Nick was a tremendous student athlete at Archer High School. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, our Archer family and with his Stetson football family. Nick has impacted many lives and we are all going to miss his gentle spirit and his million dollar smile."
