BUFORD, Ga. — Another man from Georgia has been arrested on charges relating to the attack on the U.S. Capitol Jan. 6.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation said Verden Andrew Nalley, 49, of Buford, was arrested Tuesday.
Channel 2′s Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Tony Thomas learned that Nalley is charged with three federal counts, though details on the charges have not been released yet. He’s charged alongside south Georgia attorney William Clahoun, who Channel 2 first reported was under arrest on Jan. 8.
Calhoun and Nalley apparently went to Washington together. Video that Calhoun posted on his social media on the day of the riot is part of the federal evidence.

Thomas tried to speak to Nalley’s relatives in Buford but no one responded. Online records indicate he may actually live in Walker County in northwest Georgia.
Online sleuths identified Nalley as being inside the Capitol early on, citing a social media post where he wrote: “The Capitol takeover was planned. I was there,” and said it was time to drain the “rest of the swamp.”
Calhoun also boasted on social media about being part of thee crowd that broke into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. It’s unclear if Nalley was by his side.
Prosecutors said Nalley is a danger to flee and a threat and want him kept in jail. He’ll be in court Friday afternoon for a detention hearing.
The FBI said that the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.
Nalley is the ninth person from Georgia charged after violent protesters supporting former President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol. Seven people, including a woman from Kennesaw, died as a result of attack.
Calhoun, Bruno Cua, Michael Daughtry, Cleveland Meredith, Eric Munchel, Benjamin Torre and Lisa Marie Eisenhart have all been taken into federal custody for their participation in the riots. Another Georgia man was charged but died by suicide before he could be arrested.
