GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A family was left shaken after three men kicked down the door of their home and terrorized them in the middle of the night.
It was 5:30 a.m. on April 19 when surveillance video captured three men approaching the front door of the home in unincorporated Stone Mountain.
The men kicked down the door, pulled out their guns and yelled, “Police! Get your hands up! Get on your ground!”
Three people were sleeping in the home when they heard the loud noise. The father of the family inside went to see what it was and saw the suspects in his house.
He tried to hide but the suspects saw him and immediately demanded money.
Police said one suspect ran upstairs and that’s when the mother and son barricaded themselves in a bedroom.
When the suspect tried to force his way into the bedroom the son tried to escape out a second-floor window.

Neighbors in a nearby apartment complex told Channel 2's Tyisha Fernandes they were terrified and are taking precautions.
“That’s not the first-time things have happened like that around here. So, I just mind my business, keep the door locked and that’s why I have a dog,” a neighbor told Fernandes, asking not to be identified.
Police released images of a car riding through the cul-de-sac just minutes before the home invasion.
Police believe the people inside could be involved.
“That’s what’s sad about it because I’d like to think I’m in a better place with my children and that’s why I’m trying to move,” the neighbor said.
Investigators are hoping someone recognizes the suspects' voices.
