Surveillance video from the Boggs Road dealership shows 24-year-old Kaderries Johnson entering the showroom, according to police. Johnson is accused of spending days scoping out the dealership while hatching a plan to drive off in a brand-new car.
“He was looking for where the key fob was located,” Cpl. Ryan Winderweedle with Gwinnett County Police told Channel 2 Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Matt Johnson.
During his first break-in, Johnson reportedly left with only a water bottle. But on Dec. 7, police say he returned, broke into a locked cabinet, grabbed three key fobs, and drove off in a 2025 Mercedes GLE SUV.
“He was able to locate three key fobs to different Mercedes that happen to be at the dealership and left in one of the Mercedes,” police said.

The stolen car was later found in South Georgia, where Warwick Police unknowingly encountered Johnson driving it. The vehicle was impounded for not having registration and insurance but Johnson was not arrested because the vehicle was not listed as stolen.
Two days later, Johnson wasn’t so lucky. He was arrested for allegedly loitering.
“He was located by Albany Police walking by another dealership,” authorities said.
Johnson is now awaiting transfer to Gwinnett County, where he faces multiple charges for the break-ins and vehicle theft.
