GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — When Andrea Holt and her husband climbed into their custom Jeep, affectionately named “Monster,” on a snowy Friday morning, they saw a chance to make a difference.
“When God lays something on your heart, that’s what you do,” Holt said.
With 44-inch tires and a winch ready for action, the couple spent the day pulling stranded drivers out of the snow along Sugarloaf Parkway and in other parts of Gwinnett County.

“We ended up pulling 15 vehicles out,” Holt said, sharing cell phone footage of their rescue efforts.
Among those they helped was Tanisha Howard, whose car got stuck trying to climb a hill near Martins Chapel Road around 8 a.m. Howard had made a trip to the grocery store right before the snow started falling.
“I was like, you know, the Lord will send somebody by to help shortly,” Howard said.

The Holts arrived, pulling her car onto level ground and ensuring she got home safely to her kids.
“I came home, and we were out making snowmen and snow angels,” Howard said.
As snow blanketed Gwinnett County, police responded to dozens of crashes across almost every region of the county. Approximately 20 cars were stuck along Lawrenceville Suwanee Road near Duluth Highway when drivers misjudged a hill and ended up stalled on the side of the road. Similar incidents were reported along other major roads.
For the Holts, it wasn’t about recognition or reward.
“We got them out of there, we didn’t ask for a dime, and they’re back home safe,” Holt said.
One by one, stranded drivers sent messages of thanks to let the couple know they had made it home.
“I’ve got text messages from all 15 people to let me know they’re safe,” Holt said.
In a day filled with icy challenges, Andrea Holt and her husband proved that a little courage, compassion, and a custom Jeep could make a world of difference.
For Gwinnett County, they are the real snow angels.
