GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett County Police say they arrested a man who robbed a victim he met on Facebook Marketplace involving the sale of a vehicle.
On January 6, GCPD responded to a theft report at 1625 Pleasant Hill Road in unincorporated Duluth.
When they arrived, police learned from the victim he was attempting to purchase a white Dodge Charger from a male suspect he met on Facebook Marketplace.
The suspect robbed the victim of $5,000 during the transaction and fled the scene in the vehicle.

Police say they used DOT and FLOCK cameras to track the suspect’s vehicle; 30 minutes later, the vehicle was spotted in the area of Old Norcross Road and Herrington Road and GCPD officers conducted a traffic stop.
The suspect, 23-year-old Kobe Isaih Romain-Grant of Suwanee was arrested and taken to the Gwinnett County Jail where he was charged with felony theft by taking.
Those who participate in online negotiations of purchase are reminded by the Gwinnett County Police Department that there are designated e-commerce spaces available at their police headquarters and six police precincts around the county.
