GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett police are stepping up for the siblings of an 8-year-old girl whose mother and her partner are being charged with her murder.
Police say the Crime Scene Unit collected donations among the employees and raised more than $3,500 in one week.

They used the money to buy toys, clothes, school supplies and more for Amari Hall’s brother and sister who are now in foster care.
Last month, Brittany Hall reported her daughter Amari missing. Just a few days later, police had recovered Amari’s body and charged her mother and her mother’s partner, Celeste Owens, with her murder.

Police say the young girl’s death was heartbreaking for everyone in the department and this was one way they felt they could give back.
