Gwinnett County Police told Channel 2′s Tony Thomas that Everson was scheduled to retire from his job at the end of July. Officers told Thomas they started investigating the veteran officer after noticing some record keeping issues.
The investigation they said, showed Everson had been allegedly padding his timesheet while actually at home or off duty. The total amounts investigators believe add up to felony levels. Everson is also accused of taking landscaping rocks from a business according to police.
Everson has bonded out of jail.
