GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga — A Gwinnett County officer was injured by an alleged drunk driver, after a five-car accident, according to officers.
On Thursday night, a woman officer suffered a head injury while working a five-car accident on I-85 when another vehicle crashed into her car.
Police said alcohol is being investigated as a factor.

The officer, who police did not identify, is expected to recover.
There were two other patrol cars on the scene, two tow trucks, and a state MCCD officer, all with emergency lights on when the incident happened.

None of the drivers involved in the original accident, other officers, or tow truck drivers were injured.
Do not drink and drive and obey move-over laws. This accident could have been so much worse. Designate a driver or use rideshare if you choose to drink.
