Lawrenceville man arrested on multiple counts of child molestation, sodomy

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on charges of sex crimes against children.

Alberto Luna Alvarez has been charged with two counts aggravated child molestation by sodomy and two counts of child molestation. He also had an outstanding bench warrant.

Lawrenceville police arrested Alvarez after the victim came forward about the recurring crime, which happened in November 2021.

At one point, Alvarez fled to Texas, but he was arrested when he returned to Georgia.

Alvarez is being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
