GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Gwinnett police are looking for a man who was seen on surveillance camera attacking a convenience store employee and then robbing the store.
Back on May 23, a man entered the Lucky Lotto Food Plus on Jimmy Carter Blvd. near Lawrenceville Hwy. in unincorporated Norcross.
The suspect ordered the employee to lock the door and then struck them multiple times with a stun gun, according to Gwinnett police.

“The suspect in this case was attacking him nonstop from the moment he first came in the store,” Gwinnett County Sgt. Colin Flynn said.
During the armed robbery, the employee was kicked in the head and lost consciousness, according to police. Police said the suspect took $1,000 from the register before running away toward Lilburn.
While the suspect with glasses and a gray beard remains on the run, many people who work nearby still have a lot of emotions.
“It makes me worry about my own business just being a few down and that store has been broken into in the past as well,” said Jose Carrilo who works nearby on Jimmy Carter Boulevard.
Carrilo says the attack that happened in May at the Lucky Lotto Plus store highlights some of his ongoing safety concerns.
“Fear probably is the strongest word that comes to mind,” Carrilo said.

Data from Gwinnett County police shows there have been 37 robberies since May within half a mile of the store.
Ten of those robberies have happened on Jimmy Carter Boulevard with the most recent one occuring three weeks ago.
Police say they’ve already shifted resources to the area that is considered “high crime.”
“We’ve allocated additional patrol officers down to that area and we are always vigilant in trying to identify crime,” Flynn said.
But Carrilo says a stronger presence in his shopping center may help ease the tension.
“Let (them) know, “hey we are here, we are watching,”” Carrilo said.
