GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A neighbor and their cat are safe after Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services say they put out a house fire on Wednesday afternoon.
Fire officials say they responded to the 1000 block of Brighton Cove Trail NE in Lawrenceville around 12:28 p.m. where they found heavy fire in the garage and attic.
As they began to battle the fire, firefighters searched the home where they rescued one cat from a back bedroom, brought the cat outside, and treated it with a pet oxygen mask.
