New custom-designed playground coming soon to Suwanee

SUWANEE, Ga. — The City of Suwanee has revealed the design for its new playground.

The new, custom-designed playground will be at the same location and have a similar footprint as the original playground.

City officials say the new playground will be constructed with more environmentally-friendly, durable materials that will ensure longevity and minimal upkeep.

1,500 volunteers will be needed to help build “PlayTown Suwanee 2.0″ between October 9 and 15.

“We need volunteers of all abilities and interests!” PlayTown co-chair Colette Grodzicki said. “Whether you are a construction expert, a little bit handy, or have never even held a hammer, we’ve got a way for you to be involved in a truly impactful project.”

Aside from the construction of the playground, other opportunities to be involved include first aid, food service, donations, and purchasing a personalized picket fence for the playground.
