GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A Gwinnett County police officer shot a man after police say he pointed a gun at officers who responded to a 911 call.
The shooting happened in 3600 block of Holland Drive late Sunday night.
We have a reporter LIVE on the scene as police investigate, on Channel 2 Action News This Morning from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Police say at 11:30 p.m., they responded to a 911 phone call. The caller told police that they heard four to five gunshots coming from a home followed by someone screaming.
When police arrived to the home, they say arguing could be heard coming from the home. When police attempted to make contact with those arguing, an adult man walked out of the front door.

An officer standing in the yard saw the man was armed with a handgun. As the officer announced himself to the man, police say the suspect pointed his gun at the officer.
The officer fired one shot, hitting the man; however, It is unclear where the man was shot.
Police say they secured the handgun and immediately rendered aid. The man was taken to a local hospital where he is stable.

The investigation is ongoing as GCPD is on scene collecting evidence and speaking with witnesses.
As for the man, police have not released his name at this time, but say that charges are forthcoming.
