LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — A Gwinnett County man is in custody after police he hit two people and a car with his car before charging at another man and crashing his car.
Police say that around 7:40 p.m. on October 8, they were called to the Lawrenceville home of Mary Cornett, who had been hit by a car in her driveway while trying to walk her dog. The driver did not stop after hitting her. She suffered a broken leg.
Ten minutes later, officers were called to a home six minutes away where another man, 42-year-old Steven Edwards, had also been hit by a car in his driveway while walking his dog. Edwards also suffered a broken leg.

Half an hour later, just before 8:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a third hit and run in which a man was attempting to back his car into his driveway when his car was sideswiped.
Ten minutes after that incident, a man flagged down police and told them he was walking his dog when a man got out of his car and charged at him.
Officers were then alerted to a single-vehicle accident in the area in which the driver got out of the car, took off his pants and ran from the scene. He was caught and arrested.

Investigators determined the driver in the crash, 20-year-old Landon Jerome Alex, was responsible for the previous hit and run incidents and complaints.
Alex was charged with five counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of hit and run with serious injury and one count of hit and run.
Police say that all five incidents occurred within minutes of each other.
