GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Investigators are looking for two men they say shot another inside a home in unincorporated Auburn.
Police were called out to the home along Fence Road shortly after 3:45 p.m.
When officers arrived at the home they found man with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Investigators said the victim was alert and conscious when he was taken to a nearby hospital.
Police said right after the shooting, two men were seen driving away from the house in a silver SUV. Shortly after 4 p.m., a car wreck at Winder Highway and Circle Road was called in to Gwinnett County 911. The caller said they had only heard the wreck.
When officers arrived at the scene of the wreck, they did not find a vehicle and then started searching for a vehicle with exterior damage.
A short time later, a Gwinnett County deputy found the silver SUV abandoned on Martins Chapel Road near Sugarloaf Parkway. The SUV had exterior damage but no one inside. Officers are now searching that area for the suspects.
