GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police have given the all-clear after investigating a suspicious threat made at the Mall of Georgia Wednesday.

Gwinnett County Police said no suspicious devices or packages were found after someone called in a threat.

Police said the person called the customer service kiosk around 1 p.m. and said that multiple explosive devices had been placed inside the mall, and they were set to detonate in three hours.

Channel 2's Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Tony Thomas was outside the mall, where there was a heavy police presence while officers investigated Wednesday afternoon. Officers from multiple agencies swept businesses and searched suspicious vehicles for any signs of explosives.

The mall was not closed as deputies went store-to-store.

"I was nervous, and I wanted get out and protect myself," she said.

Authorities told Thomas that their response would have been as large no matter what has been going on nationally.

"We're not taking this lightly. We just want to make sure that everybody is kept as safe," an officer told Thomas.

Detectives are continuing to investigate who may have called in the threat.
