GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — School officials are investigating an alleged threat to a high school in Gwinnett County.
Peachtree Ridge High School Principal Jeff Mathews sent a letter to parents about the incident.
In the letter, Mathews said school officials received information that a student may have been planning a violent act at school. Officials said the information was posted on social media along with photos of the student.
School resource officers investigated and found that there did not appear to be any threat.
"There were some pictures, like plans, but they seemed fake," student John Yoo said.

Officials said at least two students used social media to falsely accuse another student of making threats. They said the school will be taking disciplinary actions against those students. The students could potentially face criminal charges.
Administrators said other students were helpful in alerting adults and helping investigators track down those responsible.
"It's really stupid, you know? Seventeen people died in Florida. If this is really a joke, it's not even supposed to be messed with right now," student Gary Lopez said.
This incident comes after threats at other Gwinnett County schools.
Last weekend, a 16-year-old student was criminally charged after posting a video threatening South Gwinnett High School.
Police stepped up their presence at Grayson High school in Loganville on Tuesday because of a Snapchat message that threatened the lives of students.
"I don't understand why it's even happening. We come to school to learn. We don't come to school to make threats. I don't understand what's going on right now. It scares me honestly," student Jacqulan Lopez said.
In his letter to parents, Mathews said he's very concerned about this behavior and encouraged parents to talk to their children about the situation.
