GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga — A SWAT standoff in the Sugar Hill area of Gwinnett County started with a 10-year-old girl being kidnapped in Brookhaven, police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News.
Brookhaven police say they received reports of an adult woman being kidnapped on Buford Hwy. just before 8:30 p.m. on Monday night. When they got there, they learned a young girl had been abducted by a man driving a BMW.
A few hours later, police learned that the girl had been returned home. She was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.

Investigators determined the car was registered to Evan Michael Sieli, 31. They obtained warrants to charge Sieli with kidnapping and aggravated assault with the intent to rape.
Police told Channel 2′s Matt Johnson that early Tuesday morning man is barricaded inside a home near Sycamore Road.

Gwinnett County police say Sieli fired several shots at officers at 4 a.m. They say he hit a SWAT robot and a nearby residence.
Neighbors reported hearing gunshots between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. That is when police evacuated all the homes near the suspect’s home.
“There were some gunshots going on. Maybe about 20-30 shots went off. My neighbors called police and they told us to evacuate our homes,” Simuel Larry told Channel 2′s Darryn Moore. “So we had to evacuate and get out.”
At 9:45 a.m., Georgia State Patrol and SWAT made their way into the house to find that Sieli had shot and killed himself.
