GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Loganville police are looking for a bold thief who drove a car into a local gun shop.

Surveillance video obtained by Channel 2's Christian Jennings shows the car plowing through the front of the store around 5 a.m. Friday and then the driver hopping out and stealing as many guns as he can.

A second camera from the butcher shop next door shows a silver Crown Victoria pull up right after the impact.

Back inside the store, the surveillance video shows the driver hop out and head over one of the gun cases.

After grabbing a few handguns, the video shows the man run to the front of the store where his friends are waiting.

“They couldn’t get the shutter out. They couldn’t get the other car out, so they just had the other guy throw stuff out of the store and they just picked it up and put it in the trunk,” said Alex Bolson, who works at the neighboring Corner's Edge Butcher Shop.

The driver then makes a second trip inside the store where he grabs shotguns, hops over the counter and runs outside where the suspects take off.

The whole thing is over in about a minute.

“They knew the place they had to. That’s how I feel at least, because they were in and out very fast,” Bolson said.

He told Jennings that it's scary to think of so many guns are now in the wrong hands.

“I don’t think they’re going to get away with this,” Bolson said.

Loganville police say the car the suspects used to plow through the store was stolen from the Mews Apartments down the road a few hours before.

“When the cops showed up, the car was still running on the inside. They ditched it and left,” Bolson told Jennings.

The owners of the gun shop spent their Friday cleaning up the mess and boarding up their store front.

“They’re nice people. They don’t deserve this,” Bolson said.

One of the store’s owners teared up a bit telling Jennings about how appreciative he is of the community's support following the burglary.

He said they've only been open 4 years and as small business owners, this one really hurts.
