Video shows burglar breaking into Gwinnett restaurant without making any noise

LILBURN, Ga. — Gwinnett County business owners say they’re frustrated with more break-ins in the same area where thieves damaged stores just a couple of weeks ago.

Channel 2′s Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Matt Johnson was in Lilburn where the latest thief was caught on camera.

A thief captured on camera quietly removing glass from windows before breaking into businesses is wanted in Gwinnett County.

In Lilburn, four businesses reported damage and thefts in the area of Indian Trail Lilburn Rd.

At Mama Empanadas, video shows the suspect carefully removing the glass from the front door and setting it aside before running inside to steal from the cash register early Sunday morning.

The video also shows him at nearby ATL Pho working to get inside the cash register after removing the glass from the door without making a sound.

At a nearby Burger King, the same suspect broke in.

For the second time in as many as many weeks, the owner at Baby Al’s Chicago Dogs had a break-in and damage to his door he had to pay for.

“I want everyone to stay safe,” said Melody Mills, who works nearby. “This kind of thing is sad and dangerous.”

Lilburn Police were out canvassing for more video Tuesday afternoon.

It’s unclear if the same suspect from over the weekend is the same one who targeted Baby Al’s and two other businesses a couple of weeks ago.
