Vigil planned for former high school football coach, killed while putting air in his tires

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga — A vigil is planned Sunday for a former high school football coach, killed while putting air in his tires.

Police said three men tried to carjack Brad Coleman at a Quick Trip in Peachtree Corners last Sunday.

They shot and killed him.

Coleman used to coach at Peachtree Ridge High School and was in town from Louisiana to visit his parents.

Sunday’s vigil will be held at Lillian Webb Park.

Gwinnett Police said they are following up on leads, including surveillance video from the QuikTrip, but so far, there have been no major breaks in the case. Police said there were three people in the suspect’s car and they all got away after getting into a fender-bender as they fled the scene.
