GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A water main break is causing traffic trouble in Gwinnett County. Several lanes along Jimmy Carter Boulevard are closed.
The main break is in the area of Jimmy Carter Blvd. and Live Oak Parkway.
Channel 2’s Carl Willis was at the scene late Tuesday afternoon as crews shut down at least two lanes of Jimmy Carter Blvd. to fix the break.
Water authorities told Willis it will take hours of work repair the main and get things going again. They will also have to fill in the hole.
About 20 to 25 businesses in the area have been affected by the break.

One employee from a nearby car wash said the bathrooms are down, but they're managing thanks to backup water.
“Our water has been down. We haven't had that many customers come through,” employee Melieck Dunham told Willis. “We have backup water so we can use it until the backup stream goes out.”
