LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Lawrenceville police are investigating a crash between a Gwinnett County sheriff’s deputy and another car.
The crash happened near the intersection of Highway 20 and Swanson Drive shortly after 3:30 p.m.
Investigators said Cpl. Robert Loewen with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office hit another car after it turned in front of him as it was turning onto Swanson Drive.

That’s when police said Loewen swerved to avoid the car and ended up driving up a utility pole guide wire.
Loewen was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
