“You can’t die on us,” his sister Memuna Ansah said, recalling the words she spoke to her brother as he lay bleeding in the front of the home.
“We were telling him, keep your eyes open. We still need you here,” she said.
The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. on Pembrook Farm Way near Snellville. Police say the recent South Gwinnett High graduate had just returned home from his job with a transporting company when someone opened fire. His family was inside the home at the time and ran out to find him critically injured.
The former South Gwinnett basketball player is now fighting for his life in the hospital.

“One bullet can take your life, but whoever did this shot him eight times,” his sister said. “He’s still fighting now.”
The shooter remains on the run, and the family says they have no idea why anyone would target Talal Ansah.
“He’s not the type to get into anything stupid or any type of situation that would cause them to think his life was worth taking,” Ansah said.
Gwinnett County investigators have been canvassing the neighborhood, searching for clues in the case, searching for evidence to help track down the suspect or suspects.
Ansah’s family says doctors are waiting for the swelling in his brain to subside before determining the next steps for his treatment.
While the Ansah family prays for Talal’s recovery, they are also in need of justice.
“We won’t rest until whoever did this is found,” Memuna Ansah said.
Anyone with information or evidence about the shooting is urged to contact the Gwinnett County Police Department.
The family has started an online fundraiser to help with medical expenses since the shooting. Click here, if you would like to contribute.
