DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — A local mother got the surprise of a lifetime — a new house, and it’s thanks to some very giving people, including NFL great Warrick Dunn.
Sherkira, a single mom of two teens, was surprised with the house through Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta. The house in Austell was decked out with $10,000 in free furniture from Aaron’s.
Sherkira was also gifted a $5,000 down payment payment assistance check from Warrick Dunn Charities.

This is the 185th home given away by the NFL star’s non profit.
Sherkira, a bus driver for Connect Douglas, says this new home will give her family safety and security. It’s a legacy she says she can leave her family.
To make this story even better, they even stocked her fridge with groceries. She’s going to have a great Thanksgiving.
