Hall County mother faces murder charges in daughter, son’s stabbing deaths

A mother is accused of killing her two young children at their Hall County home and now faces murder charges.

Hall County investigators say Berenice Jaramillo-Hernandez stabbed her 5-year old son Mateo Miranda-Jaramillo and 6-year old daughter Katherine Miranda-Jaramillo.

Emergency officials were called out to a home along Crescent Drive in Hall County around 2 p.m. When Hall County Sheriff’s Office arrived, deputies found the siblings’ bodies inside the home.

Deputies said the mother stabbed her children sometime between noon and 2 p.m. before she turned the knife on herself.

Jaramillo-Hernandez remains in the hospital and will be booked into the Hall County Jail when she is released.

She faces two counts each of felony murder, malice murder and aggravated assault.
