GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Police in Hall County are investigating after a shooting left one teen dead and another injured over the weekend.

Gainesville police said it happened on Saturday at 8 p.m.
Officers were called to reports of a car crash and shots fired on Hillcrest Avenue. When first responders arrived, they found 17-year-old Aristo Ramirez dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police said another teen was shot in the foot. The 16-year-old, whose identity was not released, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Although the investigation is ongoing, Gainesville police said this was not a random crime.
Officials believe Ramirez was shot and then crashed the vehicle. GPD said the second teen ran away before police arrived.
