Naked, armed man shot to death by Hall County deputies after hours-long standoff

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating the death of a man after deputies shot him during a standoff.

Hall County sheriff officials said on Saturday, just before 6:45 a.m., officers received reports of an assault at a home on Samoa Way.

According to the investigation, a woman called 911 to report that a man assaulted her inside her home and then tossed her down some stairs.

When deputies arrived, the woman had escaped the home, but the suspect was still inside. After two hours of failed attempts to talk with the suspect, deputies called SWAT to help negotiate.

A neighbor sent Channel 2 Action News a video of when SWAT Officers were called to the scene.

During negotiations, officials said the suspect became increasingly agitated.

At one point, deputies said the suspect walked out of the house naked with a handgun. He then began to fire multiple rounds into the woods around the home, according to the investigation.
