HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A man was shot and killed in Hall County Saturday night, police said.

Channel 2's Michael Seiden was in Gainesville, where police said the incident happened at a home on Desota Street.

Police are working to identify the victim and said it was unclear if he lived there or was a guest.

Seiden talked to Jessica Van, with the Gainesville Police Department, who said the shooting happened around 5 p.m.

"We do know that persons of interest are in custody, so the public should not be alarmed at this time," Van said.

A neighbor's Snapchat video shows the moment police surrounded the home, which is just a few blocks from the heart of downtown.

Neighbor Cicely Luster said she was sleeping when she heard sirens.

"I come out and it scared me, because I've never seen that many police," Luster said. "They had guns and stuff, and people were running and telling us to get back."

Luster said a young family lives in the house. She told Seiden she is worried because she hasn't seen or heard from them since police arrived.

"One lady's son said, 'Someone got shot!' The next thing I know, I started crying because I was praying, 'Please nobody get killed. I don't want anybody to get killed,'" Luster said.
