HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Rescue crews are searching for a man who went under Saturday night at Lake Lanier and did not resurface.

The Department of Natural Resources said they responded to reports of a boating incident on Shoal Creek around 9:20 p.m. Official said a man left an inflatable raft to try and retrieve an oar and went under.

Fire units from Hall, Gwinnett and Forsyth counties assisted in the search, which was suspended at 11:20 p.m. Saturday night and has resumed each morning.
Georgia Department of Natural Resources Public Affairs Officer Mark McKinnon identified the man Monday night as 56-year-old Xi Zhu of Marietta.
Zhu has not yet been found. The search for him will resume Tuesday morning.
