HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Friends of a Henry County woman who was badly injured in a car accident last Friday night are thankful after the return of her therapy dog. The dog, named Finn, ran off when Monica Brantley's car overturned at the I-75/Jodeco Road exit in Henry County.
After Channel 2's Berndt Petersen reported on the missing goldendoodle Monday, some children heard barking in an area beyond their backyard. Their parents, who saw the report, found the dog and called the victim's friends.
Those friends shared a video with Channel 2 showing Finn sound asleep on a bed Monday night. "He's finally home and he's safe," the victim's friend, Melissa Howell narrates, while thanking everyone who helped get his story out to the public.
Finn works with special needs children in local schools. He had not been seen since Brantley lost control of her car at the Jodeco Road exit ramp. The vehicle rolled over and paramedics who responded saw Finn run away.
Howell and Jennifer Pritchard went door-to-door in Henry County Monday afternoon, hoping that someone had seen Finn.
"The more people we have out there looking, and knowing what he looks like, the better off we are," Howell told Channel 2’s Berndt Petersen.

The friends say Brantley suffered a fractured neck and was scheduled to undergo surgery Tuesday morning. Despite the seriousness of her injuries, she was most worried about Finn.
"Her dogs are like her children. She recently lost one and for him to be gone it's just devastating for her," Pritchard said before Finn came home.
"He's a great dog and he does great work. And Monica is a good friend," Howell told Petersen.
