HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A suspect has been arrested after a man was killed in a targeted shooting at a Hall County gas station early Sunday morning, officials said.
The victim, who has not been identified, had stopped at the QuikTrip on Gainesville Highway near the Gwinnett County line, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The victim and a woman stopped at the station when a gunman approached and fired into the car, the sheriff’s office said. The victim was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
A mother of a customer told Channel 2's Christian Jennings her son and other employees hid in a cooler when they heard gunshots. At one point, a woman came running into the convenience store.
"He’s texting me back saying they have us back in the cooler that the shooter has called the ex-girlfriend and said he was coming back," the woman said. She asked to remain anonymous.
Officials later took the man into custody at his home in Canton. His identity has not been released.
Video that circulated on social media captured the terror.
"It’s terrifying, the video was terrifying. I think my son at any point could have walked out of that store," the woman we spoke with said.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office says this was not a random shooting and confirmed the suspect and the woman know each other.
Investigators have not released any of the names involved.
