CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities in Clayton County are searching for the 2nd escaped inmate in 24 hours.
Clayton County sheriff’s office said Devonte Detuan Ross escaped early Friday morning near a QuickTrip on Riverdale Road while he was being transported by a private transport agency.
Deputies said that when they stopped to get him something to eat, Ross escaped.

Authorities said Ross was handcuffed in the front with waist chains at the time of escape. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and black shoes with orange stripes.
Ross is about 5 feet tall and weighs about 135 pounds. He has tattoos on his face and neck.
Deputies said Ross is “very familiar with this area” and may have friends in this area. Authorities said any escapee is considered potentially dangerous and people should call 911 if they see him.
North Clayton High School, North Clayton Middle School, Northcutt Elementary School, Oliver Elementary School and West Clayton Elementary School have been placed on soft lockdown due to the escape.

Ross was being transported to state prison to serve time for burglary and trafficking drugs, as well as probation violation.
On Thursday, another inmate escaped in Clayton County after being transported near the Atlanta airport.
J’ssan Carlos Strover, 20, is wanted in Arizona for first-degree murder, attempt to commit first degree murder and aggravated assault.
After searching all day for Strover, it was a Channel 2 Action News crew that spotted the suspect and alerted police to him. He was taken into custody.
