ATLANTA — Monday will be a hot one. A heat advisory will be in effect for Monday afternoon and evening for our southern-most communities.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Katie Walls said a heat advisory will take effect from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.
The heat index is expected to move into triple-digit territory Monday through Wednesday for metro Atlanta. Walls says even if you're not in the counties under the heat advisory, check the backseat and limit your time outdoors.
We're tracking how hot it could feel in your neighborhood and when you'll see relief, on Channel 2 Action News.
Walls said people exposed to the high temperatures and humidity could be at risk for heat stress.
The best chance for rain is Wednesday. Highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
