HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Police have given the all clear at a north Georgia hospital after they investigated a bomb threat in the area on Tuesday.
Gainesville Police confirms officers responded to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville on Spring Street this morning. Dispatch received a bomb threat close to the hospital.
“We are conducting safety sweeps with personnel, dogs and other safety equipment,” Capt. Kevin Holbrook told Channel 2 Action News. .

While hospital operations were initially not impacted, a spokesperson for Northeast Georgia Health System said they canceled appointments until further notice.
“All appointments at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville and Longstreet Clinic’s Gainesville location today are cancelled until further notice. If someone needs emergency care, they can dial 911 to access the emergency department,” a spokesperson said.
Police gave the all-clear just after 1:45 p.m. and appointments have been allowed to resume.
