GORDON COUNTY, Ga. — A helicopter crashed near a restaurant in north Georgia, Calhoun police said.
Police said they were on the scene of the crash near El Nopal Restaurant near Hwy. 53. They asked people to avoid the area.
NewsChopper2 flew over the scene where the downed helicopter could be seen laying on its side on the ground.

WTVC in Chattanooga reported the helicopter had a pilot and three passengers. The pilot was taken to the hospital and others had minor injuries.
The FAA said it is investigating.

WTVC reported that police said that wind “took over” the helicopter and caused them to hit a power line and a building before crashing.
Police said none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening.
