The teens were less than two miles from their school when the crash happened Wednesday afternoon.
The students’ car left the road and crashed down an embankment, killing three of them.

On Thursday, Henry County police returned to the scene of the crash.
Jones could still see the path the students took as their car veered from its lane to the opposite side of the street. That is where their car went down the embankment and hit several trees.
A spokesperson with the Henry County School District said all of the school’s parents were notified of the tragic car accident Thursday morning. The spokeperson added that counselors would be made available for students who needed support.
Jones was at the high school Thursday, where a huge crowd of students showed up for a vigil to mourn their classmates.
Students told Jones that they can’t believe their friends are gone.
Omar Goodlow, a senior, said his classmate Katrina Owens was the life of the party.
“Trina was a real good friend to me,” Goodlow said. “She loved making TikToks with me. All we do is make TikToks.”
Goodlow said that by contrast, Jordan Brown was quiet and a bit shy. He said Kendarius Dodson was a star athlete.
“He always loved baseball,” Goodlow said. “His number was 22.”
Goodlow said everyone is really confused about what happened, especially since they just saw their friends yesterday.
“Just keep the people who are close to you, cause you never know when they gone,” Goodlow said.
