MCDONOUGH, Ga. — Law enforcement officials are offering a $7,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man wanted in a sexual assault and break-in attempts at a senior living complex.
The McDonough Police Department said a man broke in to a home at the Heritage at McDonough senior living complex on Feb. 5, where he sexually assaulted an elderly woman. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is also joining the investigation.
Channel 2′s Tom Jones attended a news conference held by the departments, who have made this case their top priority.
“We consider this suspect henry county’s most wanted at this time,” Sheriff Reginald Scandrett said. “I’ve never been more sickened in all my life at this type of crime.”

Family members who contacted Channel 2 about the case said the victim is 75 years old and that she was raped. They are concerned because the man has not been caught.
“We are hoping for any help we can get so that she can have some peace of mind,” the victim’s great-niece told Channel 2. “We just pray for piece of mind for her. She has already been through so much.”
The suspect was wearing a Nike fanny pack style bag.
Officers also believe this might not be the suspect’s only attack. Police said the man also was caught on surveillance video attempting to break into other homes.
Police have set up a 10-person task force to investigate the cases.
“We’ve all taken it personal,” McDonough Major Kyle Helgerson said.
